Joining PlanetLab

Instructions for Users

Users requesting accounts must already be affiliated with an institution that is hosting a PlanetLab site. Refer to the current list of institutions.

If your institution is not currently hosting a node, the institution can join PlanetLab by following the steps found in the joining instructions.

If your institution is currently hosting a node, new users must register for a new account and then contact their local PI for their account to be activated.

All PlanetLab users, and especially slice owners, are strongly encouraged to join the Users mailing list. This list is used for the resolution of most questions about running software on PlanetLab and will likely prove invaluable to new users. In addition, site admins often use this list to post information about their nodes and the support team posts information about new software releases, services available and any other relevant issues.
